Pismo Beach History & Culture
In 1769, Don Gaspar De Portola lead the Portola expedition through what is now known as Pismo Beach. Early tourism here included visitors having the option of staying in “a tent city”. The tents could be rented for only 8$ a week! It was a popular idea and was a great way to invite tourists to check out Pismo Beach. Today, the beach is still a popular tourist destination!

When is the best time to visit?
This is a question any good RVer would want an answer to! September to November are the nicest months weather-wise. The temperatures during these months are generally in the 70s to 80s. However, if the monarch butterflies are on your list of things to see, you might want to stay a little longer as most of the butterflies tend to show up towards the end of November into December! Make Pismo Beach your next stop!
